Denying terminally
ill patients the right to die has negative financial consequences
for the family of the patient as well as for society. Caring for
terminally ill patients costs a lot of money. (1)
Normally these costs are so enormous that insurance coverage and
family finances alone cannot handle them. (2)
Instead of spending billions of dollars to keep terminally ill people
alive and suffering needlessly, the government should deal with
other urgent healthcare issues. (3)
Since terminally ill patients suffer needlessly and family and society
have to bear a tremendous financial burden in caring for them, there
is no reason to deny these patients the right to die.
