The Right to Die

Nowadays, there is a heated debate going on regarding euthanasia, otherwise known as assisted suicide. Supporters of euthanasia argue that it is cruel to keep alive terminally ill people who are suffering constantly. However, pain and suffering are just as much a part of life as good health and happiness are. First, life is precious and no one, regardless of the amount of suffering he might be experiencing, has the right to take his life. Second, euthanasia could be abused whenever the interest of the patient is in conflict with those of the family or medical community. ______________________________. For these reasons, patients should not be granted the right to kill themselves.
