Introduction to Exercise 6 - Identifying
and correcting errors in thesis statements
In this exercise, you will learn how to identify and fix problems
with thesis statements.
Each of the following introductory paragraphs has a problem with its
thesis statement. Read each paragraph and identify the problem in
the thesis statement. Then, rewrite the correct thesis statement in
the space provided. Click on the HINT button to get help on how to
improve the thesis. After typing your answer, click on the DONE button
to compare WHAT YOU WROTE with WHAT WE WROTE.
